Woodworking shop cabinets. Part 1.

16 Dec

This weekend I started making the first of many cabinets for the woodworking side of the new shop With the loft in place, the woodshop has a dedicated 15x20x8 room. It’s already starting to feel small and I don’t even have all the tools moved in! To help with this, I’m building a series of wall mounted cabinets and one floor cabinet/work bench. It will act as a infeed table for the Delta RAS and hold my mitre saw. Underneath it will be 9 drawers to store tools.

I used 3/4″ hardwood ply to create the ends and dividers.

Using the left over strips from the ends/dividers, I made support runners. SZsDRO8lrWRNGUXl

Making the top was messy. It’s built out of lap jointed 2×4′s with 3/4″ MDF and 1/4″ hardboard.

Hopefully in the next few weeks I can build the drawers and finish the cabinet.
